Donations To Help Offset College Tuition of Children and other Critical Family Needs
Joseph Anarumo, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) New York Field Division and Dennis J. Schnur, Chairman of the Federal Drug Agents Foundation (FDAF) announced the establishment of the Special Agent John Capano Memorial Fund to help offset financial obligations of the family of the late ATF Special Agent John Capano who was tragically killed on New Year's Eve while attempting to stop an armed robbery of a pharmacy in Seaford, Long Island, NY.
The primary purpose of this fund is to ensure that financial support is available for the college educations of Special Agent Capano's son and daughter. Agent Capano's son is currently attending Northeastern University and his daughter is a high school student.
Individual and/or corporate donations may be made out to the Special Agent John Capano Memorial Fund and sent to the Federal Drug Agents Foundation, 380 North Broadway, Suite 203, Jericho, NY 11753. Donations to the fund are tax deductible.
SAC Anarumo said, "This tragic incident has left the entire ATF family saddened and we will seek every opportunity to ensure that John's wife and children remain part of the family and feel secure in the future."
The FDAF is a philanthropic organization whose core mission is to support all levels of law enforcement throughout the United States whenever possible. Dennis Schnur, Chairman of the Federal Drug Agents Foundation said, "I hope that in some small way we can show our support for the men and woman of law enforcement, and their families, who put their lives at risk and protect us on a daily basis.”
